!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and I really like it. Throw an LSD in the back and it’s basically a 1M lite. I was looking for a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! because !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is probably the color combo I would want if I was ever able to get a 135is. I’m usually not a fan of red cars, but I love BMW’s Vermillion Red Metallic. The seller says that only 4 135is’s were sold in the color combo, which I believe as I’ve never seen another in this color listed for sale.
The only downside to this 1 is the fact that it’s a DCT, but then you do get perfect downshifts so you can hear all the pops and crackles on downshifts through your BMW M titanium exhaust. That exhaust might be a little excessive as my neighbor across the street can hear when my dad starts his car.

That’s a pretty color. Love it.

Really is, don’t think I ever appreciated it until it came time to sell my 128i.
Such a great color.

The world needs more dark red cars, metallic or otherwise . Such an underused color.

Doesn’t throwing an LSD in the back cost something like $3000-$4000 though?
I recall looking into it once for a 335i I nearly bought and the LSD + install was heinously expensive.

Agreed, we need more colorful cars. It seems that people don’t want colorful cars because they’re worried about resale. Then, ironically, those cars hold their value better because people want them because they are interesting colors.
If BMW had offered a green on the F80 M3, I might have gotten a new one instead of buying my E90.

Bmw is so stingy with putting an LSD in there cars.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 18:55 |

It’s still cheaper than getting a 1M. You can get a quaife LSD for £1392.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 18:56 |

Ever since the early 90s, you have to get an M car to get an LSD.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 19:10 |

That is absolutely insane.

Which is bullshit

I think the 2er has a nicer front, but the rear end on those 1er coupes makes me go nuts. It’s classically correct.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 19:17 |

It is, I understand why the do it, doesn’t mean I agree though. Only comment I have is that an LSD wasn’t even standard on the W204 C63 AMG.

Just BMW things. I really do wish my 3 had an LSD and the extra 30- 40 horsepower it should have.

I think I actually prefer the front of the 1er. I like the 2er, but the 1er just does something for me.

It’s got a lot of style. I think the 1er captures a long lost “two door sedan” look that BMW always got quite well (2002, E30, etc).
![]() 07/22/2018 at 19:24 |

I agree with that. I have heard that the 1er is the closet thing to a modern E30.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 19:26 |

I can agree to that, design wise at least. I have a soft spot for the 135i too, though I am not certain if it was sold with a manual in Mexico... that would be amazing tho..
On an unrelated note... I drove an F30 320d GT today. The steering is so bad.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 19:29 |

Mexicans can’t have nice cars.
Wait.
I had a 2018 320i as a loaner, the steering has gotten a lot better recently. Not on par with my E9Xs, but a lot better than the 2015s.

Jalisco? had to be from the lowlands. Those jackasses drive rather frivolously.
The issue isn’t that we don’t get nice cars... the issue is that the nice cars we get are sold exclusively to people that can’t bother with a manual. So they barely bring any manual cars. You can’t get a single performance car outside the M4, M2 and M3 with a manual. Even the Miata RF is automatic ONLY!
It was a short drive down a B road, I mean... Meh. I tested it on sport and comfort and it felt more muted than my Kia...
My kia is very muted too! But it’s the GT model, much more heavy and more luxury focused I guess. I can’t blame BMW for making the steering numb.

I honestly don’t know enough about things like that in Mexico.
I was kidding about you guys not getting nice cars. Sucks you don’t really get manual performance cars. I was really happy that BMW sold the E60 M5 with a manual ONLY in the US market.
I test drove a Stinger, the steering was decent but nothing to write home about. Then again, I drive a BMW with hydraulic steering every day.

I can vouch for the E90 steering. It’s quite good. Not intrusive annoying like an unassisted car would be. But for a modern car it’s pretty nice.

Nah I've been getting quotes around the $2500 all-in range from a few reputable shops around me for my 335i.

Mine has an LSD and with only 120hp too
![]() 07/22/2018 at 19:59 |

What do you have?

86 325es

Always wondered what those were like to drive.

Makes it hard to take the “ ultimate driving machine” seriously, when an LSD is basically up there with rwd, manual, and low weight as major parts of the sports car deal
![]() 07/22/2018 at 20:10 |

BMW be like, you want an LSD? Buy one of these:

e39 m5. e60 had the dct (or some kind of automagic) that bmw specifically cited as being designed to go with the v10, although you could also get it with a stick
![]() 07/22/2018 at 20:17 |

I meant it as you could only get a manual E60 in the US market.
![]() 07/22/2018 at 20:42 |

I’d rather support the used market... Hnggg
![]() 07/22/2018 at 20:44 |

Yes.
Now GIB!

I’m incredibly disappointed in how few E36 M3's are for sale locally...
Was that ggorgeous purple a n OEM color on the E36? Techno-violet, right?
![]() 07/22/2018 at 20:52 |

Yeah, that’s techno violet. I would rock a techno violet BMW 7/7 days of the week.

You actually wrote that very clearly, I just had no idea. Learn something new everyday, thanks!

What about Daytona Violet?
![]() 07/24/2018 at 20:21 |

Getting it done at a shop is a lot less expensive . My quotes were from dealers using the BMW P erformance LSD.
![]() 07/24/2018 at 20:21 |

That’s a lot better deal than the BMW Performance LSD for sure.
